The York Beer & Cider Festival 2016 has gone from strength to strength over the last few years since its move to the Knavesmire a few years back. This year will see a change in venue, thankfully not too far though. If you forget then, you’ll just need to wander across to the other side of the Racecourse where you’ll find Europe’s longest bar from where you’ll be able to sample nearly 500 beers!
This year’s festival starts on 14th September and runs until the 17th. The new location allows for a purpose-built enclosure with lots of indoor space and an upgrade in facilities which will allow the whole event to be weatherproofed. There’ll be the usual array of world food on offer to compliment the brews available from the foreign beer bar. With 40,000 pints set to be sunk, the variety and the food will definitely be appreciated. We’ll be heading down with a camera to check things out and report back!
